What’s “Metal-Urge” you say?

Metal-Urge is a community event to galvanize Tacoma around the metal arts. From October 1` to November 30, 2014, you are invited to participate in Metal-Urge, a city-wide celebration of the metal arts. This community event includes both traditional and non-traditional gallery venues exhibiting the metal work of talented artists and includes jewelry, sculptures, vessels, home decor, enamel, and artifacts.

As part of Metal-Urge, Throwing Mud Gallery is featuring sterling silver jewelry by Sarah Burr Arnold.

Please join us during 3rd Thursday Art Mingle,
October 16th from 5 to 8 p.m. to meet Sarah and view the beautiful metal art pieces we have for sale in the gallery.

Sarah is inspired by natural forms, shapes, ideas, historic jewelry, objects, challenges, themes, art therapy concepts, life experiences, oceans, and emotion.  We have some beautiful statement pieces available for sale in the gallery.

In addition to Sarah’s jewelry, we also have: metal wall art by Doug Mader; candlesticks by blacksmith, John Simpkins; and Bella Luz luminette nightlights.

Several or our jewelers work in metals, including: Cheryl DeGroot, Eileen Blaszak, Passiko True, Sarah Alice Britton, Ann Scott, Jennifer Lenel, Mandy Allen, Robert Keene, Tribal Zone, and Nancy Hoyt.
